The acronym STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics – represents a realm of boundless potential, brimming with innovation and discovery. Yet, despite significant strides in recent years, women remain underrepresented in these critical fields. This lack of gender parity not only hinders the potential of women in STEM but also limits the overall progress and innovation within these disciplines. To fully unlock the potential of STEM, advocating for and implementing effective policies that promote gender equality is essential.

Understanding the Disparity

The underrepresentation of women in STEM stems from a complex interplay of factors. Gender stereotypes that portray STEM fields as inherently masculine discourage young girls from pursuing these subjects.
